A group of 20 Sixth Form students and two staff visited Hong Kong over the half term break, with the principle aim being to maintain our links developed over the past 8 years with Fukien Secondary School, Kowloon.
During the stay we were able to spend two days in the school, with students participating in English lessons, presenting a piece of drama, playing competitive basketball in the sweltering heat and even trying our luck at table tennis.
Additionally we were able to experience the diverse and contrasting culture that Hong Kong offers with visits to Po-Lin Buddhist monastery, Victoria Peak, Lantau Island, Lama Island, Stanley Market. Ocean Park and the infamous Temple Street Night Market.
All agreed that this an exciting, exhausting but overall exhilarating exposure to a completely different culture and environment, and two of the party are keen to take a gap year working at the secondary school in Kowloon.
We hope to visit again in 2016!
